Maureen Murphy

Maureen started her arts career at the age of five. Dancing at numerous dance studios throughout the city, Maureen had great success and decided to broaden her horizons to include piano, theory, singing and acting training.

After completing her A.D.A.P.T. Jazz and Tap Advanced exams and her R.A.D. exams, Maureen decided to further her vocal and musical talents. She was in the top 24 girls on the television show ‘Canadian Idol’, was one of four Canadians selected to compete in the first season of Nashville Star, sang the anthem for the Calgary Stampeders and won many vocal competitions around Alberta. Maureen has since recorded in Nashville and Alberta. Maureen has played many roles in local musical theater productions including the role of June in ‘Gypsy’.

Maureen has traveled all over Canada teaching workshops and doing choreography for dance studios. She has also danced with various singing/dancing troops in Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Nashville.

One of Maureen’s most proud accomplishments is being the recipient of an attitude award and the winner of the Amoco award which were voted on by fellow peers and awarded to a strong team player.

Maureen has been teaching vocal, piano, acting and dancing for 10 years and is extremely excited about joining the Boundless team again for the 2011-2012 dance season.

Zumba starting again at Boundless! Tuesday Sept 28 to Nov 16 at 9:30 to 10:30am.
*weeks only $100. Register at studio during office hours by Sept 27th. Must have a minimum of 6 to run.

Boundless Dance Studio is so pleased with our summer activities that took us to Kelowna, BC for the Grand Championships. All dancers exceeded our expectations and so many trophies, awards and awesome memories were brought home with us!
